Resident owners, Ray and Rita Liptrott, offer warm and friendly accommodation in the family run Queen's Hotel, where your pleasure and comfort is their prime concern They believe in giving value for money, with personal attention at all times to ensure a memorable visit. The Queen's will appeal to you if you want to get away from the pressures of modern day living without having to miss out on home comforts. The comfortable single /twin and family bedrooms are tastefully decorated, and have a wash-basin and tea /coffee making facilities. Bathrooms/showers and toilets are within easy reach of all bedrooms. We do not have any en-suite bedrooms. Our residents' lounge offers colour television, dvd and a video, we have a large selection of pre-recorded video tapes for your use, just ask. You will also find a collection of local books, board games and magazines - as well as tourist information. Breakfast - and an evening meal if desired is served in our country style dining room, during the day. You may purchase bar meals from the public bar. The Queens Hotel dates back to the early 19th Century and has a character and charm of it's own, with the distinction of being :-- Scotland's Most Southerly Hotel. Set in rural surroundings on the picturesque Mull of Galloway, it stands in the middle of Drummore Village overlooking Luce Bay, Wigtownshire, whose waters are warmed by the North Atlantic Drift. The Mull and Drummore We are just five miles away from the fabulous Mull of Galloway with its lighthouse and R.S.P.B. nature reserve and visitor centre. On a clear day you can see the Isle of Man, Ireland, the English Coastline and the Machars Coast. Drummore itself has a harbour, picnic site, beaches, a couple of shops, a Post Office, a tea room and the Queens Hotel with it's traditional village bar and games room, serving excellent meals and takeaways. Ideal Base We are only five minutes from the sea and there are plenty of safe bathing beaches. This peaceful corner of Scotland is a magnet for anglers, artists, walkers, yachtsmen, golfers, bird-watchers, gardeners, historians and motorists alike. You can relax and enjoy countryside walks or drives. Visit some of the wonderful gardens in the area- try your hand at sports; or marvel at some of the historical buildings and Early Christian Heritage Sites. We are extremely popular with fishing parties. you can fish from the shore or rocks, bring your own boat or hire a boat from one of the local skippers as a group or individually. |
